Armenia’s educational community is witnessing the launch of an unprecedented large-scale initiative—the Koreez-Physmath inter-school mathematics competition.
Organized by the Koreez Educational Program CJSC and the Yerevan State University Special School of Physics and Mathematics after A. Shahinyan—recognized among the world’s top 10 schools – the competition is being held on an unprecedented scale this year with the high sponsorship of Telcell. The 2025 Koreez-PhysMath competition will be the largest competition of its kind, with leading technology Company Telcell joining as a key partner.
The partnership ensures greater engagement, a competitive environment, and exceptional opportunities for the winners, as mathematics has been and remains the cornerstone of science and technology. This is the idea that the “Koreez-Physmath” campaign is guided by, aiming to identify and develop future leaders by fostering interest and skills in mathematics.
Telcell CEO Artyom Ghazaryan emphasized that education is the cornerstone of any society’s development, and Telcell, as a company with a strong sense of social responsibility, aims to support the future generation through affordable and quality education.
“Mathematical education is not only about transferring knowledge but also an important tool for the development of logical thinking, analytical skills, and innovative approaches. We are confident that this competition will provide an opportunity to help thousands of students achieve maximum results and become the future technological and scientific leaders of Armenia,” Ghazaryan noted.
According to Suren Aloyan, the founder of the Koreez Educational Movement, the competition is not just a mathematics competition, but an educational movement that will prove that mathematics is the most important pillar of Armenia’s development.
“With the sponsorship of Telcell, this year we are creating a broader platform, ensuring equal opportunities for every student,” Aloyan added.
According to Arman Sargsyan, director of the A. Shahinyan Physics and Mathematics Special School, mathematics is not just knowledge but also an opportunity.
“We have always strived to identify talented students, and this competition will once again help us find and encourage the best. The winners will have the privilege of being admitted to the Artashes Shahinyan Physics and Mathematics School through an interview,” Sargsyan said.
The competition will be held in two stages -online and in person- with an award ceremony at the final stage.
All students from the 3rd to 12th grade, as well as college students in Armenia, are eligible to participate regardless of their level of knowledge. Organizers emphasize that the initiative aims to demonstrate that anyone can develop an interest towards mathematics.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to Telcell for supporting the educational movement and contributing to the development of future leaders through mathematics.
“Mathematics is the language of the future, and this year, we are ready to reach new heights,” they stated.
