On February 22, in Maastricht, Kingdom of the Netherlands, the RA High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Zareh Sinanyan, participated in the European Armenian Lawyers’ Conference, organized by the Armenian-Dutch Lawyers and Jurists Association. As a panelist, he took part in a discussion on “Building Bridges: Legal Perspectives on Strengthening Armenian-European Relations.”
Addressing the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the High Commissioner emphasized the importance of reforms within the framework of this partnership and noted that the efforts to deepen Armenia-EU cooperation are fundamentally aimed at strengthening and developing the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people.
The conference brought together numerous Armenian legal professionals from across Europe, including participants of the “Diaspora Youth Ambassador” program specializing in law. It served as a platform for uniting the legal potential of the Diaspora and discussing current legal topics.
During his visit to Maastricht, the High Commissioner also met with Wladimir Bongard, an associate member of the Groningen Institute for Central and Eastern European Studies (RUG) and a member of the governing board of Brightlands Chemelot Campus.
The discussion focused on organizing working meetings in March 2025 between a delegation of specialists arriving from the Netherlands and relevant Armenian government agencies, as well as exploring opportunities for cooperation.
As part of his visit, Zareh Sinanyan also met with Vazgen Sargis, founder and president of the Armenian-Dutch Lawyers and Jurists Association, and Levon Sargis, president of the “Ani” Armenian Association of Maastricht.
