On February 25, within the framework of his working visit to Geneva, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland Thorgerdur Katrín Gunnarsdóttir.
The interlocutors discussed the enhancement of bilateral political dialogue and prospects for cooperation between Armenia and Iceland in various formats and platforms. The possible upcoming visits were touched upon.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized: “The active dynamics of deepening cooperation with the Nordic-Baltic countries reflect the importance we attach to engagement in this format. We are committed to making the most of the available opportunities through joint efforts, both in the context of bilateral sectoral cooperation and regional engagement”.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland the efforts aimed at deepening the Armenia-EU partnership, emphasizing the importance of exchange of the experience with Iceland as a close partner of the EU and the strengthening of capacities in specific areas.

International and regional developments were touched upon. Both sides emphasized the importance of cooperation based on respect for the fundamental norms of international law and the system of unifying values. Minister Mirzoyan also presented the security situation in the South Caucasus and Armenia’s efforts towards establishing lasting peace.
