Azerbaijan’s response to the peace agreement was surprising and even unexpected. In essence, it should have provided grounds for optimism, yet, unfortunately, the lack of trust has created a significant space for doubt. We must work with what we have, as abandoning our position could lead to a renewed war. Therefore, in order to dispel doubts and strengthen guarantees, I would like to see the Armenian government take the following steps in the coming days. It is important to emphasize that my proposals are entirely realistic, as they fall within Armenia’s own capabilities and sovereignty:
1. Propose that U.S. President Donald Trump act as a guarantor of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement.
2. Invite the U.S. government to initiate a process for reopening Armenia’s transportation routes, with a particular focus on the “Middle Corridor” project, modernizing Armenia’s railway network, and equipping it with American rolling stock.
3. Offer the U.S. government investment participation in Armenia’s profitable natural resource sectors, with the first step being the granting of a license for the left bank of the Kajaran polymetallic mine.

I am confident that these proposals are beneficial and in no way harmful; moreover, the likelihood of receiving a positive response from the American side is quite high. Moving forward with the peace process will not only be favorable for the approval ratings of the newly elected U.S. administration but will also lay the groundwork for long-term peace, the reopening of transportation routes, and a balanced regional potential.
