The screening of Aida Aharonyan’s “Shushi. Amen” and Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan and Ashot Poghosyan’s “Prayer for Armenia” took place in Los Angeles.

The event became an occasion for deep spiritual experiences and a reminder of hope—that what is lost can be found again and that the past can serve as a bridge to the future.

“Shushi. Amen” tells the story of our historic city-symbol, which for centuries has been one of the centers of Armenian culture, spirituality, and identity. Today, Shushi is occupied, yet its voice resonates in our prayers, in the call of conscience, and in the demand for justice. The film looks into our memory, where Shushi lives not as a past, but as an expectation, an unbreakable faith, and the hope of return.
“Prayer for Armenia”, created by Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan and Ashot Poghosyan, transforms into a spiritual confession. It is a prayer interwoven with sorrow, anticipation, hope, and faith. This prayer is heard in the heavens, but it also echoes from the depths of the Armenian soul as a call—that we have no right to despair and are obliged to find the strength for rebirth within ourselves.

The screening of these films became a moment of reliving and awakening. Shushi is occupied, but its spiritual presence remains unshakable. Its walls will once again feel the footsteps of Armenians, its churches will once again be lit with candles, and its heartbeat will once again pulse with the rhythm of freedom. Shushi will be ours again.

These films remind us that faith bridges the past and the future, and with God’s power, we will reclaim what is lost and be reborn in our homeland.
