On April 3, within the framework of the cognitive visit the delegation of the city of Meyzieu of France led by the Mayor Christophe Quinion visited the National Assembly. The Head of the RA NA Armenia-France Friendship Group Vladimir Vardanyan received the guests. The member of the Friendship Group Rustam Bakoyan and the deputy Alkhas Ghazaryan were also present at the meeting.
The sides noted the high level of Armenian-French relations and attached importance to their further deepening. Vladimir Vardanyan thanked friendly France for always standing by Armenia during difficult days for the Armenian people and for the support it has provided.
It was underscored that the centuries-old traditional ties formed between the two peoples are an important basis for the development of Armenian-French inter-state relations. There is a solid Armenian community in the city of Meyzieu, Armenian structures operate, and the Armenians are actively involved in the public life of the city. Reference was made to the cooperation between the regions of Armenia and France, and in this context, the promotion of ties between the cities of Meyzieu and Hrazdan.
The perspectives for the development of Armenian-French relations, as well as issues related to regional and geopolitical developments were at the core of the interlocutors’ discussion. Noting that our country emphasizes the normalization of relations with its neighbours, Vladimir Vardanyan presented to the guests the process of negotiations on the peace treaty with Azerbaijan and the existing challenges.
