Modernization works carried out at the Ministry of Health’s “National Center for Mental Health”

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the “National Center for Mental Health” of the Ministry of Health, which was modernized within the framework of the Government’s 2021-2026 program of activities.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister of Health, toured the center to get acquainted with the works carried out.

It was noted that the modernization of the National Center for Mental Health includes the overhaul of 6 buildings, including psychiatric buildings, an administrative building, a kitchen building, etc.

Currently, 3 buildings have been completed and reequipped (the 1st psychiatric building, a kitchen building, a checkpoint), as well as a solar photovoltaic station. Improvement of the areas adjacent to the completed buildings has also been implemented.

The 1st psychiatric building underwent major renovation with better seismic resilience, as well as being fully equipped with the necessary medical equipment, furniture and supplies. The 1st building houses the reception area, the military department, the inpatient and outpatient departments for men, and the rooms for the medical staff. An investment of 4 billion 688.9 million drams is planned for the repair works of the buildings of the National Center for Mental Health, of which 37.12% has been made.

The technical equipment was provided by the Aznavour Foundation. The foundation donated 131 million drams for the re-equipment and furnishing of the 1st psychiatric building and the kitchen.
