On May 6, in Yerevan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered opening remarks at the Second Operationalization Meeting dedicated to the launch of the Advisory Centre on International Investment Dispute Resolution, being established under the auspices of the UN.
In his remarks, the Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of continuous cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the UN Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), highlighting Armenia’s commitment to continue its constructive engagement in the work of the Commission.
The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of effective mechanisms for investment dispute resolution in today’s interconnected global economy, in the context of promoting institutional capacity for developing and least developed countries, ensuring investment flows and economic stability, as well as advancing national development goals.
Touching upon the process of launching the Advisory Centre on International Investment Dispute Resolution, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan reiterated Armenia’s willingness to host the Centre or its regional office, supporting the initiative to establish a fair, inclusive and transparent mechanism for investment dispute resolution.

Note: The Second Operationalization Meeting dedicated to the launch of the Advisory Centre on International Investment Dispute Resolution is taking place in Yerevan on May 6-8. The event was organized by the joint efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the Office of the Representative on International Legal Matters and the UN Commission on International Trade Law. The discussions were attended by the Secretary of the UNCITRAL Ms. Anna Joubin-Bret, representatives of the Secretariat, and delegates from more than 25 member states.
