On May 10, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan and Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos participated in and delivered opening remarks at the official event dedicated to Europe Day, held at the Freedom Square.
In his speech, Robert Abiboghomanian reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Armenia to further rapprochement with the EU and emphasized the clear determination of the European Union and its member states to continue deepening their cooperation with Armenia.
The Deputy Minister also emphasized that the EU is a key partner for Armenia in the effective implementation of democratic reforms, strengthening the rule of law, protecting human rights, deepening sectoral cooperation, modernizing the economy, and enhancing the country’s resilience.

The festive event was held under the theme “EU-Armenia Cultural Bridge” and featured musical and dance performances by ensembles from the EU member states and Armenia. Informational booths showcased the EU-supported programs implemented in various communities across Armenia and the EU member states at Freedom Square.
