On June 2, the Head of the RA NA Armenia-France Friendship Group, the Chair of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan participated in the plenary session of the 5th Armenia-France Decentralized Cooperation Conference held in Goris and gave a speech.
“This is evidence of the strong friendship that exists between our peoples not only as a historical legacy, but also as a partnership aimed at the future.
The decentralized cooperation has long become one of the real pillars of the strategic relations between Armenia and France, including education, healthcare, culture, agriculture, local development and other key sectors.
It is especially welcome that the Conference was organized in Syunik, a region of strategic importance for Armenia, where exemplary cooperation has already been formed with the French department of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

In this context, it was also a great honour to participate in the opening ceremony of the office of the Honorary Consul of France in Goris. This is a more than symbolic step within the framework of the vision of deepening Armenian-French relations, local representation and community development. France once again demonstrates its commitment to being a reliable partner of Armenia also at the community level, with long-term programmes.
I express my gratitude to all partners of France for friendship, responsibility and devotion, as well as the state and local bodies, the civil society and communities of Armenia for their active participation and consistent involvement in this process.
We’ll continue supporting this partnership in the National Assembly as a strong foundation for mutual respect, dialogue and development,” the Head of the Friendship Group concluded his speech.
