91 billion AMD under the approved programme in 2024 was allocated to the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs. The revised figure amounted to 100 billion 957 million AMD, the actual execution was 98 billion AMD, which is 97.2% of the planned indicator. This was stated by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia Vahe Hovhannisyan at the joint sitting of the Standing Committees on Defense and Security and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on June 4. The annual report on the Implementation of the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2024 was debated.
According to the Minister of Finance, the Ministry of Internal Affairs implemented 3 programmes and 23 measures in the reporting year.
Presenting the work done by the Ministry, the RA Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan noted that the work on the formation of the institution was fully completed in 2024. Personnel appointments were carried out in compliance with legislative rules.
According to the Minister, the Ministry has a fairly high performance in the reporting year. She also informed that there is an improvement in the trust index towards the police.

According to her, the hiring process is actively ongoing, and applications are constantly being received.
The Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan presented the reason for the dismissal of Aram Hovhannisyan from the post of Chief of Police and the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs. She noted that this was the result of a personnel change, which is a normal process in the Ministry.
At the joint sitting, issues regarding the annual report on the RA State Budget Execution for 2024 – defense, national security service, state protection service, and foreign intelligence sectors – were debated behind closed doors.
