On June 10, at the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs and on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs the debate of 2024 state budget execution.
As the RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan informed, in the reporting year 578 million drams, the execution – 97.7% was allocated for the expenditures of the Staff of the Human Rights Offender (HRD).
The Office made purchases worth 56 million drams, of which 37 million drams were purchased from one person.
Afterwards, the Secretary General of the RA Human Rights Defender’s Office Nina Pirumyan presented the Human Rights Protection programme implemented by the Human Rights Defender’s Office in the reporting year, with two main events. “As in previous years, the vast majority of the budget funds allocated in 2024, about 99.4 percent, went to the Provision of Services for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms measure,” the rapporteur noted.

Within the framework of the second event, 4 million drams were allocated to provide the technical equipment of the Office. It was noted that in the reporting year the high status of the Ombudsman’s Office ‘A’ was reaffirmed. “This in itself is a criterion that the Ombudsman’s institution operates with high standards of independence, impartiality and reliability, with the introduction of legal toolset,” Nin Pirumyan noted.
In 2024 HRD Office received 11,634 applications-complaints, of which 1620 were positively solved.
