EU and Partners Inaugurate Key Sustainable Infrastructure Projects in Syunik to Boost Regional Resilience

EU Ambassador Vassilis Maragos joined Resilient Syunik Team Europe Initiative partners today in Tegh to inaugurate two landmark infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening Syunik’s resilience.
A new 80kW/h solar photovoltaic station, co-funded by the European Union and Austrian Development Cooperation, will promote sustainable energy and serve the needs of the Tegh community—powering, among others, a modern irrigation system. This system was developed with the support of Lithuania under the umbrella of the Resilient Syunik Team Europe Initiative, along with contributions from the United States, UNDP/GEF, and Tegh municipality.

The Resilient Syunik Team Europe initiative is a joint undertaking of the European Union, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and EU Member states Austria, Czechia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden, with Switzerland also joining as an external partner.
