Yerevan, Armenia – June 23rd– Teach For Armenia is proud to announce a new partnership with Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) to advance educational access and improve outcomes for students in the Syunik region. The work of Teach For Armenia is already visible in the region—especially in rural schools where there was a shortage of specialists. Beyond ensuring the right to quality education for children, the impact of the foundation’s teacher-leaders is evident in the local communities themselves. I value that ZCMC is supporting this change-making program, as today’s investment in our children’s education is a guarantee of having skilled professionals and ensuring the sustainable development of Syunik,” said Syunik Governor Robert Ghukasyan.
“We are deeply grateful for ZCMC’s dedication to education and social development,” said Larisa Hovannisian, Teach For Armenia’s Founder and CEO. “Their support underscores our shared belief in the transformative power of education. Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward building a brighter, more equitable future for Armenia.”
“Educational programs have traditionally played a significant role in the social development initiatives of the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine,” said Armen Stepanyan, Director of the ZCMC Charitable Foundation, highlighting that last year ZCMC allocated most of their funding to support and implement various educational initiatives. “For us, investments in our region—particularly in Kapan, Kajaran, and the Syunik province as a whole—are a top priority. In this context, becoming a partner of Teach For Armenia’s program in Syunik is both an honor and a source of great enthusiasm for us. Teach For Armenia brings a new culture into schools, and we are delighted that students in Syunik will now become part of this exceptional program,” said Armen Stepanyan, the Director of Sustainability , ZCMC.
This partnership marks a significant milestone in both organizations’ commitment to cultivating leadership among our next generation of students and teachers and strengthening communities through education.
