RA NA Delegation Meets with Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs

The delegation of the Armenia-USA Friendship Group of the RA National Assembly is on a working visit to Washington on June 24-27.

Within the framework of the visit, the Head of the Delegation, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan, the members of the Armenia-USA Friendship Group Arusyak Julhakyan, Maria Karapetyan and Gegham Nazaryan, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the United States Lilit Makunts met with the Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs Brian Mast on June 24.

During the meeting, Sargis Khandanyan highlighted the importance of the RA-US relations and the signing of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the two countries in January of this year, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening relations between the two states.

During the meeting, the current security situation around Armenia, the ongoing peace process with Azerbaijan and the current challenges, as well as the Crossroads of Peace project were discussed.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs Brian Mast expressed his support for the Republic of Armenia, emphasized that the United States is committed to its efforts to achieve peace in the region and will continue to demonstrate active engagement.

Sargis Khandanyan conveyed to Brian Mast the invitation of the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan to visit Armenia.
