The member of the RA NA delegation to OSCE PA Lilit Galstyan gave a speech in the 32nd OSCE PA Annual Session going on in Portugal. The RA NA delegate noted:
“Dear colleagues,
My modification on the paragraph/52/ refers to the trials of Armenian POWs and preservation of cultural and religious heritage of Nagorno Karabakh.
Different reports reveal that Nagorno Karabakh former leaders and Armenian prisoners of war remain in Azerbaijani custody under troubling conditions, they are subjected to torture and are denied basic legal protection, including international lawyers. Even Red Cross’s visits are banned.

It’s recorded fact that Azerbaijan disregards human rights standards.
I urge my colleagues to advocate for the humane treatment of Armenian POWs and other detainees. This includes allowing international observers, such as those from the OSCE participating states to monitor their treatment until their unconditional release.
Additionally, I call for deployment of a fact-finding mission to safeguard the region’s cultural heritage, which is under continuous destruction because of Azerbaijan’s state policy of elimination of Armenian traces.
Dear colleagues, I raise the voice of thousands who expect a just decision from this Assembly.
My suggestions are not opposing the peace process and will only demonstrate Azerbaijan’s political will to positively affect the peaceful agreement. Your voice is vital for fostering reconciliation.”
