On the 30th anniversary of the Yerevan Press Club (YPC), July 18, 2025, a ceremonial awards presentation for Ethical Journalism Award took place at the Opera Suite Hotel. These awards were established as part of the EU “Media Quality and Sustainability Initiative” program.
The opening remarks were delivered by YPC President Arthur Papyan.
Welcome addresses were given by Frank Hess, Head of the Cooperation of the EU Delegation in Armenia, Nouneh Sarkissian, Managing Director of Media Initiatives Center and Boris Navasardian, Honorary President of the Yerevan Press Club and Chairman of the Media Ethics Observatory.

The aim of the Ethical Journalism Award is to encourage the continued development of ethical journalism in Armenian media outlets and to promote consistent adherence to universal standards of professional ethics and the provisions of the Code of Ethics of Armenian Media and Journalists.
Here are the 2025 Ethics in Journalism Award winners:
- Maria Titizian, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of EVN Report, an online news and analysis platform,
- Gevorg Tosunyan, journalist at CivilNet online TV.
The awards were presented by Frank Hess, Head of the Cooperation of the EU Delegation in Armenia, and Arevik Sahakyan, Executive Director of Factor TV and recipient of the 2025 World Press Freedom Day Award.
In memory of the late Mikhail Diloyan, longtime executive director of the YPC, the organization established a special award this year titled “For Effective Management of Media.” The inaugural award was presented to Kristine Barseghyan, Director of “Hetq” LLC. The award was presented by Naira Avagyan, widow of Mikhail Diloyan.
Several YPC members offered congratulations, including Gayane Markosyan, Public Relations Manager at Synopsis Armenia; Vigen Sargsyan, Chairman of the Professional Ethics Committee at the YPC, Avet Demuryan, Honorary Vice President of the YPC, and Ashot Melikyan, Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Freedom of Speech.
