Armradio.am. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has addressed ongoing negotiations with Azerbaijan, highlighting prospects for progress in border delimitation and regional connectivity projects.
Speaking during a Q&A session in Parliament on September 10, Mirzoyan described the Washington Declaration and the initialing of a peace treaty as “landmark events.” He stressed that achieving lasting peace is a long-term process requiring care, caution, and consistency.
“Today, we are working with Azerbaijan in the direction of unblocking. There may be new developments in the border delimitation process,” Mirzoyan said, adding that discussions are also continuing with US partners, particularly on railway and other joint infrastructure projects.
The foreign minister underlined that humanitarian issues remain a top priority for Armenia, including the release of prisoners of war and detained persons, as well as clarifying the fate of the missing.

While acknowledging that challenges will persist even after the signing of a peace treaty, Mirzoyan emphasized that the risks of escalation and renewed armed conflict have been reduced to a minimum at this stage.
