At the UN Security Council Open Debate on “Women, Peace, and Security,” H.E. Mr. Paruyr Hovhannisyan, Permanent Representative of Armenia to the United Nations, reaffirmed Armenia’s steadfast commitment to promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women in peace and security processes. He presented Armenia’s Third National Action Plan (NAP) on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), which addresses the specific needs of vulnerable and marginalized groups, particularly in conflict and post-conflict settings. Ambassador Hovhannisyan underscored the urgent need to accelerate international efforts to fully integrate the role of women in conflict prevention, post-conflict reconstruction, and peacebuilding, while ensuring the protection of women and girls in conflict zones and humanitarian crises.
