This past weekend, the inaugural DILIJAN RUN sports and cultural festival was held in Dilijan,
bringing together local residents, students of the United World Colleges (UWC) Dilijan
international school, and sports enthusiasts from various regions across Armenia. The event
also provided a fantastic opportunity for Dilijan residents to showcase their products and crafts
to visitors of the city.
The main organizers of this sports and cultural event were the UWC Dilijan College and Dili
Sport, in collaboration with the Dilijan Community Center and other partners.
“This is the first DILIJAN RUN, and we hope that it is the start of traditions for many years to
come, and that it becomes one of the features of this wonderful place, where people believe that
a healthy lifestyle is necessary for a happy life. This is not just a run — it’s a day and a tradition,
which has united all the people: internationals, locals, and people of different ages,” said
Veronika Zonabend, chair of the UWC Dilijan College Board of Governors, in her welcoming
remarks.
