On October 29, the RA High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Zareh Sinanyan, hosted a delegation led by Garegin Ter-Parsamyan, Principal of the Armenian Bomonti Mkhitaryan School of Istanbul, at the Armenian Genocide Memorial and Museum-Institute.
The 70-member armenian delegation included teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs, and representatives from the fields of science, culture, and other sectors.
Accompanied by the guests, the High Commissioner toured the Armenian Genocide Museum, after which the group paid tribute to the memory of the innocent victims by laying flowers at the Eternal Flame. The members of the Istanbul-Armenian community and Mr. Sinanyan concluded the tribute with a prayer.
Welcoming the delegation’s visit to Armenia, High Commissioner Sinanyan emphasized the importance of such visits in strengthening Armenia–Diaspora relations. He reaffirmed the commitment and readiness of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs to continuously support and promote the deepening of these ties.
At the conclusion of the visit, the High Commissioner and staff members of the Office answered participants’ questions, which mainly concerned repatriation and the procedures for obtaining Armenian citizenship.
