The Applied Policy Research Institute of Armenia, also known as APRI Armenia, has been recognized as one of the “100 Think Tanks to Watch 2025” by the prestigious global platform called On Think Tanks, joining a distinguished list that includes globally renowned institutions such as Brookings Institution, Chatham House, Istituto Affari Internazionali, IFRI, Bruegel, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, and ODI.
This important honor is a peer-driven recognition celebrating think tanks that have demonstrated noteworthy practices, innovation, and impact. It is a reflection of how think tanks see and inspire each other as part of a community that values shared learning and evidence-informed policymaking. APRI Armenia’s inclusion in this distinguished list also marks a significant milestone in its institutional development and international recognition.
Established in 2022, with initial support of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) with additional donors in Armenia and worldwide coming on board since, APRI Armenia was launched to help fulfill a pressing need for deep analysis, strategic dialogue, and informed policymaking. Since then APRI Armenia has become a trusted platform for regional and international engagement.
Upon hearing the news, AGBU President Sam Simonian stated, “It is most gratifying to see that our early investment in an Armenia-driven think tank has shown remarkable progress, not only in the quality of the work and caliber of intellectual talent, but also the breadth of exposure in the policy community. Thanks to the dedication and perseverance of APRI Armenia, this special recognition validates our belief in Armenia’s capacity to become a respected and valued source of thought leadership in the world.”
