At the UNGA80 High-Level Meeting on the appraisal of the United Nations Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons, H.E. Mr. Paruyr Hovhannisyan, Permanent Representative of Armenia to the UN, underscored that despite the progress achieved under the Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons, new and evolving forms of trafficking highlight the urgent need for sustained and coordinated action. He emphasized Armenia’s commitment to eradicating all forms of human trafficking and presented the progress made and reforms implemented. Armenia’s cooperation with international monitoring bodies was also highlighted, especially under the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings and its expert group, GRETA, which regularly assesses the country’s progress.
