On December 5, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan received the Minister of State for Defence of the United Kingdom Lord Coaker, as well as the first British Resident Defence Attaché to the Republic of Armenia, Major Thomas Shorland Ball, at the premises of the Ministry of Defence.
Also present at the meeting were the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the United Kingdom Varuzhan Nersesyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Armenia, Alexandra Cole.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to Armenia-United Kingdom cooperation in the defence sector.
Both sides positively assessed the current level of cooperation and expressed their readiness to further advance it. The parties emphasized the importance of the appointment of resident Defence Attachés in the Republic of Armenia and the United Kingdom, noting that this step will contribute to the further expansion of bilateral defence cooperation.
