PM Pashinyan chairs Constitutional Reform Council session

The Constitutional Reform Council held a session chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in which officials who are not members of the council also participated as guests.

The constitutional reform process was presented within the framework of the session’s agenda. Minister of Justice, Chairwoman of the Constitutional Reform Council Srbuhi Galyan reported on the proposed regulations in the conceptual directions being developed, presenting their legal substantiations, target directions and systemic impact in the context of the development of the constitutional order.

In particular, details were presented on the strengthening of mechanisms for full balancing and mutual restraint of powers, further improvement of legal structures, increasing the efficiency of public administration institutions, as well as regulations aimed at ensuring the stability and functionality of constitutional institutions.

Within the framework of issues related to the revision of constitutional regulations, an exchange of views was held, observations and proposals were presented from the perspective of constitutional principles, legal predictability, as well as strengthening the rule of law.

Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of increasing the efficiency of joint work between concerned departments, and the interconnected and harmonious organization of the work being carried out in order to ensure the legal integrity and continuity of the reforms.
