Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the participants of the event titled “Youth for the sake of Armenia’s science-based future” within the framework of the “Yerevan Sustainable Energy Days”. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan and Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan were also present at the meeting.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the invitation, noting that the Government of Armenia recently adopted the Doctrine of Economic and Institutional Transformation of Armenia, and education was declared there as the strategy of all strategies. According to Nikol Pashinyan, the solution to any problem is related to education, including in the context of the topic under discussion, since energy transformation is generally a priority agenda in the world.
The Prime Minister spoke about the importance of learning lessons from history and emphasized: “In my opinion, all our policies and decisions in recent years, I can even give a specific number: all our decisions that we have made since 2024, or maybe before that, step by step, they are all directly related to the lessons learned from our history.” According to Nikol Pashinyan, the lesson learned from history is that we should not repeat it, because it is cyclical.
“That is, the cycle I am talking about is as follows: in a favorable geopolitical environment, sometimes even independent of our will, we received statehood, the geopolitical conjuncture was like that, then the geopolitical conjuncture changed, and we, again regardless of our will, lost the state. Now, in my opinion and in my assessment, what is the situation today? The situation today is that we have left behind that cycle,” the Prime Minister said, adding that 2020-2025 were the years of leaving behind that cycle.

“We were in that cycle, should we lose or not lose? It was already ripe, the moment had come that we reached the culmination of that historical cycle in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and yet, in 2024, the resolution took place. A change in the historical cycle took place, that at the moment when we should have lost our state, we did not lose our state. By the way, I want to tell you that there are even specific months, dates, events there, if you are interested, I can even share them. As I had the opportunity to say, now something completely different is happening with the Republic of Armenia. At the cost of victims and sacrifices, we have reached a point that Armenia today, February 12, 2026, yesterday, the day before yesterday, tomorrow, the day after, and later on will be like that, it is moving to the center of the world from the periphery of the world, and without physically moving anywhere. And this is the most important news that I am happy to tell you,” Nikol Pashinyan noted.
During the meeting, a conversation was held on efficient energy management, construction, air pollution, education development and other topics in Armenia. The possibilities of turning the ideas of the event participants into solutions were discussed. The Prime Minister also answered their questions of interest.
The event was organized by the Yerevan Municipality and the Yerevan Construction Investment PIU in cooperation with the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund of Armenia and the “Covenant of Mayors – East” program of Armenia.
