On February 13, the Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs debated the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Labor Code in the second reading at the extraordinary sitting.
The proposed legislative amendments will enable the smooth implementation of the process of introducing electronic employment contracts, without hindering the exercise of employees’ rights to conclude employment contracts. The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan noted that many citizens have not managed to receive an identification card and electronic signature. In the first reading procedure it was proposed to conclude, amend and terminate employment contracts exclusively through a digital system from January 1, 2027. Now, it is proposed to change this and set deadline to July 1, 2027. At the suggestion of deputy Vladimir Vardanyan, the provision on application of the principle of retroactivity was adopted.
