NYtimes. The Pentagon has ordered about 2,000 soldiers to deploy to the Middle East, two Defense Department officials said, even as President Donald Trump on Tuesday appeared to support Pakistan’s offer to broker peace negotiations between the United States and Iran.
Mr. Trump shared a social media post in which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan said his country was ready to host the talks. Pakistan was also said to have delivered a 15-point peace plan from the United States to Iran, according to two officials briefed on the matter.
