The Delegation of the European Union to Armenia and the Public Journalism Club organised a two-day seminar that brought together 11 journalists from Armenian media outlets to discuss the Strategic Agenda for the EU–Armenia Partnership, operation of the current visa facilitation regime and Visa Liberalisation Action Plan.
Opening the event, EU Ambassador Vassilis Maragos spoke about the importance of independent, fact-based journalism and stressed the role journalists play in providing the public with reliable and comprehensive information, including on people-to-people contacts and cooperation on visas. He also noted that meetings in this format help journalists better navigate complex issues of public interest and support more grounded reporting on EU matters.
During the seminar, journalists had the opportunity to engage directly with EU Delegation to Armenia, EU Member State Ambassadors, Consuls and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia to discuss EU–Armenia cooperation, including visa issues. Armen Ghazaryan, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia briefed the journalists on the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan.
