The Armenian Assembly of America has released a new factsheet on the trials of Armenian hostages in Baku, documenting the continued detention, sham proceedings, and unjust sentencing of Armenian prisoners held by Azerbaijan.
This resource provides important background on the politically motivated trials of former Artsakh officials, civilians, and prisoners of war, as well as reported violations of due process, torture, and other inhumane treatment. The factsheet also places these proceedings in the broader context of Azerbaijan’s worsening human rights record and continued anti-Armenian rhetoric.
The issue of Armenian hostages held in Baku will be among the priorities in focus during the upcoming Armenian Assembly of America Advocacy Summit, April 14th – April 15th, in Washington, D.C.
