Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission, wrote on Facebook:
“Europe is not just about geography, it’s also about the values and principles we share.
That’s why I was glad to attend the 8th meeting of the European Political Community in Armenia today. 48 leaders from across the continent, and with Canada as guest, gathered in Yerevan to discuss how to cooperate more closely at a time of profound geopolitical transformation.
🔹 European Political Community – We talked about how to coordinate action to strengthen democratic resilience, advance connectivity and reinforce economic and energy security. Discussions also focused on resilience to the threats we are all facing.

🔹Ukraine side event – With President Zelenskyy and partners, we discussed what more we can do to support Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor. Ukraine’s needs remain as urgent as ever. Our €90 billion loan is providing vital funding for budgetary and defence needs. We will provide Ukraine what it needs to hold its ground, until Putin understands his war leads nowhere.
🔹Armenia Core Group – Armenia has been facing a challenging pre-electoral environment marked by hybrid threats, including disinformation campaigns and foreign influence operations. The Core Group met to coordinate support to Armenia. Over the last year, our EU-Armenia partnership deepened at unprecedented pace. We invest heavily in the country’s resilience and support integrity of upcoming elections.
🔹Moldova Core Group – The Moldova Core Group met at a moment when Russia continues to undermine Moldova’s European future through a deliberate destabilisation campaign and sustained efforts to erode public trust in the EU path.
European integration and security are two sides of the same coin: the closer Moldova moves toward the EU, the more resilient and protected it becomes.
While the meeting of the European Political Community came to an end, we continue in Yerevan with the first ever EU-Armenia summit.”
