The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, is currently on a working visit to the United States.
On May 8, as part of the visit, the High Commissioner visited the Artek Child Education Center, Inc. in Glendale. During the visit, Zareh Sinanyan observed the children’s daily activities, enjoyed performances of Armenian songs and dances, and answered questions from the children. He also emphasized the importance of preserving and fostering Armenian identity, language, and cultural values from an early age.
Later that day, in Burbank, Zareh Sinanyan met with Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the role of the Church and spiritual values in preserving Armenian identity. The High Commissioner underscored the important role of the Armenian Apostolic Church in strengthening community unity and preserving national identity.
