U.S. Embassy Yerevan welcomes continued progress in U.S.-Armenia civil nuclear energy cooperation! Experts from Sargent & Lundy are visiting Yerevan May 19-22 to provide continued technical assistance on Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology through the U.S. State Department’s Foundational Infrastructure for Responsible Use of Small Modular Reactor Technology (FIRST) program.
Sargent & Lundy, working with Armenian officials, completed a pre-feasibility study to assess the viability of replacing the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) unit with advanced U.S. SMR technology.
