On July 30, the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, met with Alexander Hakhverdyan, President of the Armenian Community of the Chuvash Republic.
The meeting focused on the activities of the Armenian community in the region, its ongoing educational and cultural initiatives, and opportunities to further strengthen cooperation with the Republic of Armenia.
Mr. Hakhverdyan presented the work of the community’s Armenian Sunday School and dance ensemble. He also noted that construction of the first Armenian church in the Chuvash Republic is expected to begin soon in the center of Cheboksary, marking a significant milestone for the local Armenian community.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Hakhverdyan presented Mr. Sinanyan with a Russian–Armenian–Chuvash Dictionary, published in a limited edition in cooperation with the Chuvash State University of Humanities. The publication also features works by Armenian artist Misha Grigoryan.
