On July 20, the 24-month project “Strengthening Preparedness and Community Resilience in Armenia” was launched.
The Project aims to strengthen community resilience by improving preparedness and enhancing capacities for effective disaster risk and emergency management.
Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the European Union, UNHCR, national and local government institutions, and partner organizations attended the launch event.
In her remarks, Monica Sandri, UNHCR Representative in Armenia, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the Government of Armenia in implementing its priorities and providing the necessary technical and expert support to help make national preparedness systems more effective, safer, and more responsive to the needs of the population.
