Third, robots are getting better at football. In this year’s robot football matches, robot players can already dribble, unleash powerful shots, and make diving saves, demonstrating a significant improvement in their overall competitive performance.
Fourth, “robot workers” go head-to-head in scenario-based events. Six events, including emergency response and hotel services, will be held in real-world settings. The dexterous-hand category features eight precision events, including picking up beans and tightening screws, putting the robots’ fine motor skills to the test.
Fifth, high-stakes showdowns in strength and combat events. Freestyle fighting will be featured across eight competition sessions. In the newly added weightlifting event, robot “strongmen” will compete for two gold medals, one in the lightweight category and one in the heavyweight category, both on the evening of August 24.
Sixth, over 100 teams battle it out on the dance floor. The number of teams competing in dancesport events has surged from 29 last year to 108 this year. Robot dancers will showcase graceful moves and explosive, high-difficulty maneuvers across three events: street dance, ballroom dance, and cheerleadin,” beijing.gov.cn reported.
