Hovhannisian wants to suggest the people a "Complex alternative" instead
of the "Evolution Transformation" changeover of political powers."If
the beginning of national transformation doesn’t take place during this year we’ll
be the evidences of the tragedy of that danger,"- the leader of "Heritage"
party Raffi Hovhannisian declared in the press interview yesterday. Mr. Hovhannisian’s
stressed danger is that Armenia has turned from the island of democracy of the
first years of self-government to the country, which looks for the region.The
matter is that Mr. Hovhannisian declared that a new staff of the party administration
will be elected and the "Heritage" party will express its positions
more clearly at that time. But it wasn’t clear enough what the members of "Heritage"
party mean saying the word "transformation". "It is preferable
to realize it by the evolution way. There are people who call to the revolution;
some of them are interested in their posts. But all have the same stimulus if
the current authority isn’t responsible for this situation then their parties
will adopt another way, which we don’t admit. The transformation is neither special
nor out of turn it is by order and to the point. We must continue working in this
direction to make the transformation systematic producing a complex alternative
to our people. It must be our debt and only in that way we’ll be able to avoid
of counteraction,"- Mr. Hovhannisian said. The "Heritage" begins
his part of transformation from the party construction. "Is it possible
that Armenia will be oriented to NATO in case of people’s transformation",
– to one of the journalists’ question Mr. Hovhannisian answered: "The problem
of further relations with NATO is the problem of interests of the Armenian self-government
and its representatives. The state interests of Armenia considers the safety of
not only political, economic security but also the security of the nation and
state, keeping the principal of self-governing." Not seeing prospects in
collaboration with that structure he considers important the relations with the
EU, USA, CIC, RF and the Islamic World. And the foreign position of the party
will come from the interests of self-governing of Armenia. The most interesting
thing is that the administration of the party has authorized the leader to carry
on the negotiations of formation of the pro-Western format in the name of the
party. Besides the intensive meeting-negotiations with the Liberal Progressive
and "Republic" parties meetings will take place with other parties.
S As regards the process of constitutional amendments the administration of the
party was for it. But the part will express its final position in the existence
