Presidential candidate Vahan Hovannisyan answered in written form “Heritage” Party\’s inquiry made on December 18, though he described the inquiry in his website in the following way: “Several questions remind me U.S. visa application form”. “Heritage” Party\’s administration declared on January 19 that the candidates haven\’t replied to the Party\’s inquiries and informed about their decision: “We call Vazgen Manukyan, Vahan Hovannisyan, Arthur Baghdasaryan and Levon Ter-Petrosyan to oversee the strategy of their struggle in favor of joint victory”. It is also noted that if at least two forces don\’t consolidate the final decision of the party will be made later. “Heritage” Party speaker Hovsep Khurshudyan hasn\’t excluded that in that case they will make their decision before possible second round. In answer to the remark that they haven\’t include Artashes Geghamyan in their call, said to “Azatutiun” b/s: “It is obvious that Artashes Geghamyan\’s propaganda is not intended to make system amendments, and his activities strengthen the authority\’s positions instead.”
We were informed from two of the called candidates about their position.
OEP leader Arthur Baghdasaryan said in answer to the RPA speaker as if the opposition will not win since they have not been unified: “There are unifications, and they will still be.” He also noted that they are still negotiating with “Heritage” Party.
In answer to our question whether it is possible for ARF the unification 2 forces from 4, ARF candidate Vahan Hovannisyan said: “Yes, Vazgen Manukyan\’s and my alliance is possible”. In answer to the question who will withdraw his candidacy Mr. Hovannisyan said: “these kinds of issues are determined by potential and power of the candidate”.
