On September 24, unknown assailants attacked co-chairman of “The United Youth League” Sevak Hovhannisyan in Zeytun area. Sevak Hovhannisyan said that 5-6 unknown assailants gave some blows to his face and near abdomen, and also threatening to “stop the activities, otherwise it would be worse.”
In the interview with Aravot, Sevak Hovhannisyan confessed that he suspects the members of a religious organization for the attack. “I, roughly speaking, do not have other enemies. A year ago, the leader of one of the religious organizations, personally, threatened me and they again attacked me a year ago. Recently, we have obtained a lot of facts about the “Word of Life”, “Altar” and a number of other organizations that I am going to publish. In any case, I can not say specifically by whom the attack was planned, but, definitely, by the sectarians.” Sevak Hovhannisyan informed that the members of the religious organization, in the morning of September 25, also attacked co-chairman of “We” youth movement Sevan Aghajanyan. “3-4 days ago, together with Sevan Aghajanyan, we had started a petition action, during which I, personally, was persecuted and it was vedio recorded.” Sevan Hovhannisyan emphasized that their activities made members of many religious organizations angry. “Recently, after disclosure of the “Family” sect, heads of some public organizations which were protecting the interests of religious organizations, demonstrated disrespectful attitude towards us.” According to Hovhannisyan, the members of the religious organization could get angry by the statement of a citizen suffered from the activities of the “Word of Life” organization, or the disclosure of “Khoran” organization.
