Most of the residents of the village of Dzithankov, Shirak marz, is not ready for any dialogue with the Turks, because, according to them, it is senseless to join in a conversation with the beasts. They though did not witness atrocities committed by the Turks in their village, but the stories of their ancestors engraved in the memories. In 1918, the Turks invading adjacen villages of Maralik and capturing the villages, burned on fire about 800-1000 people in 3 barns of Dzithankov village. Relatives of many residents of this village were also massacred, many of them still remember supplications and calls for help of burning people, as well as their skulls. Even at any joy, the village always remember the people burned in the village barns.

A Dzitahankov resident, 78-year-old Hovhannes Vardanyan, in the conversation with Aravot.am, told the violent story of his family in the past. “After the invasion of Turks, my grandmother had taken our family, my two younger brothers and tried to escape. On the way, my brothers were thirsty, they wanted to drink, and when my grandmother had gone after water, the villain killed my grandma right at the water spring. My mother took the two children and escaped to Mantash, where there was measles and scarlet fever and both of them died in a week. Then we, my sisters, were born, after which my parents did not have children for 7 years. Seven years later, I was born, and I was a breast-fed child for 7 years. My mother’s memories were very ill, she had seen with her own eye how the Turks hand murdered and burned our villagers, then covered the skulls with land and left. What a dialogue with them after all,” was excited the Grandpa.
