The Mechanism of Wrath

August 20,2015 11:52

Wrath and anger typical to our life and is “abundantly represented” in all areas, especially political. People judge, accuse and scourge each other, “tear off the mask”, “give a drop of sense” and so on. Nothing good comes out of it, because, it is all the same, they cannot convince each other or, as the Bolsheviks used to say, to “morally disarm” and only become hostile towards each other in vain. How to reduce the degree of aggression in our society? To answer this question, it is necessary to understand the mechanism of wrath.

Did it happen to you that the computer at the peak of the work begins “hanging up” or the connection “goes off and on?” What do you do at that moment? It is possible that you begin making a sound like a tiger, lion or any other animal. Or, worse, you begin violently clicking with the “mouse” randomly. Or, even worse, you rudely talk to the people appeared in your sight around you. Are you angry with the computer, mouse and the people around you? No, the object and the source of your wrath are you yourself.

This does not mean that it is necessary to “fight” against your own wrath, jealousy, envy, and other similar emotions. Hiding and oppressing them cause the opposite consequences, you begin blaming and criticizing you every other minute about why I experienced this emotion and why I could not hide it, restrain me and so on. As a result, you begin getting angrier. Naturally, with yourself.

Actually, the emotions become “negative” and even dangerous when you begin oppressing them and begin dealing with self-scourging. These types of emotions become at least harmless if you understand that you are the only source of them and, consequently, the owner. Moreover, you are their “hero”. When you are getting angry with somebody, the only reason for it is that you see your carefully hidden, perhaps unconsciously and unconfessed features in the other person and mirror them on the “object of your wrath”. Otherwise, you would not be so affected by others’ disadvantages. For example, mostly, rigged elections are talked by the ones who have once done the same thing and have “suffered” a lot from the accusation of non-legitimacy.

If you possess your wrath, then you do not oppress but “let it go” and “release” it realizing that proving “your truth” to the computer mouse or any person is a meaningless task. Which is more preferable: to be “right” or to be happy? Each one can make his own choice.
