July 23,2016 17:46

PAP faction MPs are urging the law enforcements to release the civic activists detained during the days following the seizure of the Patrol Service regiment and are still kept in the police departments, including those who are apprehended as a result of a collision on July 21 and for various reasons. Chairman of the PAP political part of Armenia, Naira Zohrabyan, told this in an interview with Aravot.am. “The situation today is so sensitive and explosive that the release of these young people can be viewed as a step towards. My colleagues and I urge the relevant authorities to review the criminal lawsuits filed against these young people as a small step towards the solution of the problem in peace and concession option,” said our interlocutor, adding that the created situation requires a non-standard solution.

To the question of it has been the sixth day since the Republic is in an extraordinary situation, so why the parliament does not convene an extraordinary session, our interlocutor said that every opportunity should be used to discharge the tension, however, she does not think that the extraordinary parliament session or the deputies can solve the problem. Especially, in the case when the respected Vitaly Balasanyan and Fr. Pargev were unable to find common ground for concessions, she has no idea whose word can be influential.

“There should be no losers and winners. There is a mass in Khorenatsi Street who sees the solution exclusively in the collision. I was there a few days ago, a woman was saying, let thousand people die but the problem is resolved. No. No one should die. There should be no barricade passing through the Armenian and an Armenian in the center of Yerevan. I do not understand such thinking and wording. Everyone has the right to have his own opinion but no question will be resolved by bloodshed, murdering and killing. Everything must be done to avoid a collision,” – said Naira Zohrabyan. Today, she has met with the RA Ombudsman. During the meeting, they discussed the incident happened to Davit Sanasaryan and Andranik Aslanyan.

Note that Daniel Ioannisyan, Director of “Union of Informed Citizen” NGO, as announced that recently retained activists were not taken to the police stations but to the RA police forces regiment. “David was beaten so strongly that he had a concussion of the brain. In addition, as the guys told, they were trying to humiliate them and forcing the guys to kiss the boots of the police officers, they were spitting at the guys, not to speak about the swearwords, and all this along the way to Davitashen Administrative district from Freedom Square,” – said Daniel Ioannisyan. Mrs. Zohrabyan said that they have also discussed different incidents connected with the detainees, as well as issues regarding the beaten citizen now in the hospitals. “Today, I already learned that SIS has already filed cases related to the aforementioned heinous, disrespectful and humiliating attitude (meaning what happened to Davit Sanasaryan and Andranik Aslanyan-N.G.) I hope that the culprits will bear their punishment,” – said our interlocutor, adding that they are in daily communication with the Ombudsman and will try to make the Ombudsman’s office-Parliament connection and work more effective.

Back to the events of recent days in Khorenatsi Street, our interlocutor notes that there were people there whose goal was obvious – a provocation, “No need to do hypocrisy and say that everyone gathered there pursued good and noble purposes. There is one group on duty who is waiting for an MP, a political or public figure go there to jump on their face. Taking the chance that several media are broadcasting all this live, they were literally jumping onto the face of an MP by accusing him of the March 1, voting in favor of a project, and presenting totally unclear demands so that their relatives would see them on TV how they were talking with this parliamentarian. But once the cameras are off, their desire to get “objective explanations” from the parliamentarians was immediately fading away because it is no longer possible to post in on the Internet and brag, look, how I talked with this parliamentarian.” Naira Zohrabyan is convinced that the collision on April 21 in Khorenatsi Street was truly prevented.
