Since the authorities are bad …

September 20,2016 12:09

The fact that the RA citizens do not like their authorities, it is normal. The authorities should not be liked or disliked, and not only in Armenia.  It sounds slightly strange that we have exaggerated ideas about the “neighbor’s daughter-in-law” (“Well, you know, in Tbilisi…”).  But more interestingly that our feelings towards the authorities extend to everything in Armenia as well as to such phenomena that have nothing to do with the authorities at all, including nature and the weather.  In other words, approximately this way, since the RA authorities are bad, I have the right to pollute our rivers and its banks when I am feasting.  Or, since the authorities are bad, therefore, we have the worst climatic conditions in our country: the summer is hot and the winter is cold.

Not to speak about rejoicing or being proud of any social phenomenon, for example, the improvement of the capital.  I, for instance, rejoice when I come out of the “Republic Square” metro station and head to the statue of Vardan Mamikonyan, instead of seeing the former station for homeless, I see a beautiful park with fountains and then a normal fair.  When I get to the airport highway from Leningrad Street in few minutes on a good-paved way.  When I no longer close my nose (for known reasons) in the subway next to the “Yeritasardakan” metro station but see bright and up-to-date cafés and shops.  I almost do not doubt that many of the readers when reading these lines will find drawbacks in what I mentioned above, or will get into the details of the reasons for why I am writing this (Maybe I am advertising something?).

Because of hatred to the authorities, people do not want to perceive that these are their rivers and banks, their city, their Police Patrol Service regiment (which should not be attacked by weapons), their army, their tanks, their artillery, “Iskanders”, their parades, their country independence and their Holiday.  The preparation for the military parade, yes, caused inconveniences to our drivers for 3 days, many of them are stuck in traffic jam for 1-2 hours.  But to focus on this fact, make this temporary inconvenience the only and the main subject of the conversation, this, it seems to me, speaks of the unhealthy phenomena of the psychology of the crowd.  People forget for which event is this parade.  Eventually, they are not able to enjoy the Holiday that has nothing to do with the current, past and coming authorities.

… Irrespective of the fact whether the streets are open or closed, I prefer using a metro to travel in the center of the city.  Incidentally, I would like to complain about one thing: Why are there no “permanent” metro tickets?
