Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian Restores $1 Million to Build the Armenian American Museum & $500,000 for the LARK Musical Society

 (Sacramento, CA) Yesterday, Governor Brown’s May revision of the California State Budget restored $1 Million to build the Armenian American Museum in Glendale, California and $500,000 to support the Lark Musical Society.  

 

“I am proud to have fought to restore $1 million for the construction of the Armenian Museum,” stated Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian. “I am grateful for the support of Governor Brown and my Assembly colleagues.

Assemblymember Nazarian added: “I hope the State Senate will follow our lead and restore the suspended funding in their budget.” 

Timeline:

Last year, as Chair of Assembly Budget Subcommittee 4: State Administration, Assemblymember Nazarian secured $1 million to build the Armenian American Museum in Glendale, California and $500,000 to support the Lark Musical Society.  

In January 2017, Governor Brown’s budget proposal cut funding to the Armenian American Museum and the LARK Musical Society.

On March 28, 2017, the State Assembly restored the funding for the Armenian Museum and Lark Musical Society in their budget proposal.

On May 11, 2017, Governor Brown’s May revision of the California State Budget restored $1 Million to build the Armenian American Museum in Glendale, California and $500,000 to support the Lark Musical Society.  

The State Senate has still not restored the $1 million to build the Armenian American Museum in Glendale, California and $500,000 to support the Lark Musical Society in their budget proposal. 

Adrin Nazarian represents the 46th Assembly District, serving the San Fernando Valley communities of Hollywood Hills, Lake Balboa, North Hills, North Hollywood, Panorama City, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Toluca Lake, Valley Glen, Universal City, Van Nuys, and Valley Village.
