The inquires are rhetorical.
“Rule of Law” Party (OEK) Representative Sona Sargsyan said during the discussion on the “Central Electoral Commission and Legal and Transparent Elections” held in the National Press Club: “My father has been dead for seven years. I remove his name from the list before every election. But I see his name included in the list during every election.” OEK parliamentarian Artashes Avoyan has addressed several inquires about transparency of electoral lists to the CEC before noting that has no expectation to receive any answer: “Does the CEC know that the OEK has turned to the Police for about 1500 omissions expecting their corrections. But we got answers only about dozen proposals”. He also added that the CEC site was out of order since they didn’t manage to check the electoral lists by that site. CEC secretary Abraham Bakhchagulyan explained why the site was out of order: the site is being improved which will allow people to follow in real time regime how the results are inserted. Artashes Avoyan also asked: Does the CEC know that today the opposition parties; in particular Arthur Baghdasaryan’s pre-electoral headquarters is not able to purchase advertising posters? Different private organizations who are engaged in that business, throw obstacles in purchasing the posters.”
In answer to these rhetorical questions CEC secretary replied: “Whether Artashes Avoyan is informed that OEK is presented in the whole system of electoral commissions and according to the “Electoral Code” is responsible for electoral processes?”
Different participants of this discussion recorded that the part of the candidates have already launched the campaign, which is forbidden by the law, and on that occasion the CEC doesn’t take any step.
