Will we see Deputy Minister Gasparyan in the court?

Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor Office coordinator Arthur Sakunts intends to sue Deputy Minister of Defense Vladimir Gasparyan for his threats voiced in a statement made through a mass media. In that statement he also called representatives of the NGOs worried about the problems in the army “suckers”, stating that the continuation of their activities concerning the army would be perceived as encroaching on the military forces and it would be legally solved. “Public officer has no right to say something like that about the freedom of speech”, explained Sakunts during a conversation with “A1+”. Barseghyan, on the other hand, stated that “it would be better, if the Deputy Minister dealt with revealing the killings in the army, otherwise he may do socially useful work in other fields, let’s say, breed cattle, grow an apricot tree and export it to Russia.”
