While drinking a glass of vodka

November 15,2011 12:32

I don’t trust a man who hasn’t ever reached the alcoholic condition of Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. So, I think that this never-drunk man is either too rational or his perception of life is “right” beyond the limits and therefore he is either boring or a sectarian at worst. If a man “is enjoying himself” (of course, with certain frequency, not every day and even once a week), it is good for that man, in my opinion. There is no “dirt”, if that man is filmed in that condition and broadcasted –people who watch that should have some fun and nothing else. Boris Yeltsin was “conducting” a military orchestra in Germany in a worse condition, however, in any case he went down in history as a prominent state figure and by the way as a devoted friend of Armenia. It is a different matter that Prime Minister Sargsyan should not have denied the obvious fact – it is the custom of our establishment to deny everything, no matter it is good or bad for them.

However, the response of our mass media, which was certainly based on the conspiracy theory, was funnier. It’s a pity, it didn’t occur to anybody to interview, let’s say, Ashot Manucharyan or Igor Muradyan in this regard – they would have explained in detail which “center of force” poured beer into the Prime Minister’s glass and which one cunningly added vodka to that. If one asks our commentators, not only the Prime Minister doesn’t take a step, but also a carrier in the marketplace cannot move a potato bag without an international or at least a local conspiracy. It is a different subject why, in particular, small nations are so alarmed by any event and make such far-reaching conclusions because of that. The fact is that we rule out any accident or coincidence in life and always think of some powerful forces and necessarily ill-wishers far from us.

In the “milder” version of the conspiracy theory, the one who mixed beer with vodka was the Republican Party. Thus, Karen Avagyan made the Prime Minister drunk, in particular, as Filipov’s character in the “Carnival Night” movie, and released him to the “stage”. The TV companies in turn broadcasted it aiming at deliberately discrediting the Prime Minister. Why shouldn’t one think that Tigran Sargsyan drank “on his own initiative”, then didn’t realize his condition correctly and couldn’t make a speech consciously? The “responsible” TV companies didn’t venture not to report on that. Afterwards when the video appeared on YouTube, it was all too late.

It will be the funniest thing, if the Prime Minister is fired not due to the bad condition of the economy, but because of drinking a few glasses of vodka.
