Today Aravot.am inquired from Vahan Hovhannisyan, the leader of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) whether his children were like him, whether they were as well-read as he was. Vahan Hovhannisyan assured that they were totally like him.
Vahan Hovhannisyan’s daughter Anna studied at the University of Economics. As you know, former director of the Central Bank Bagrat Asatryan who teaches at that university said, “Sashik’s (he meant Sashik Sargsyan) son and Vahan’s daughter did not come to classes, but they got a diploma.” In this regard, we asked Mr. Hovhannisyan whether he had interfered in his daughter’s education with his contacts, “Never! I haven’t done it at all,” assured Mr. Hovhannisyan.
We also tried to find out whether Sashik Sargsyan had interfered in his daughter-in-law’s education and Mr. Hovhannisyan responded, “Certainly, no, but I am not that aware of what he did, particularly given the fact that my daughter is not his daughter-in-law.”
As for Bagrat Asatryan’s classes, according to V. Hovhannisyan’s comment, “Maybe she didn’t go to his classes, because we know quite well what kind of a director of the Central Bank he was and what knowledge he can have in the field of economics and finances. My daughter is an independent person and she decides which classes to go to and which not. In this instance, I think she was not mistaken. However, one thing he said correctly, the dean – not he – examined her. By the way, after that she was admitted to a very serious, highly prestigious university to take an MA course on her own, where no one is admitted for money or through connections and where Bagrat Asatryans do not teach. She was admitted on her own and she took her exams so well that she studied there for free.”

Mr. Hovhannisyan also noted that trying to attack a political rival using his relatives is the meanest thing, “I will never allow myself to do such a thing, though I can say things like that about many people.”
