During an event dedicated to the Rule of Law Party women members organized in Ani Hotel today on the occasion of International Women’s Day, RLP leader Artur Baghdasaryan stated, “During the past 15 years hundreds of thousands of women have voted for the RLP, for me and today offers a wonderful opportunity to thank all women; those women, who were decisive in times of troubles and challenges, stood by our side, thanks to which the RLP is one of the most influential, most mature parties in Armenia after 15 years. The RLP has become a member of the EPP recently, becoming known all over the world.”
In A. Baghdasaryan’s opinion those men who cannot forgive women’s foibles, cannot sense women’s strength, advantages and virtues that bring success to every man. He is pleased that circumstances were favorable to him and during hard political struggle, strong and devoted women were always by his side, “And a devoted woman is powerful, she gives incentive to every man to achieve more.”
Artur Baghdasaryan also mentioned that 60% of the RLP were women; therefore the overwhelming majority of passed bills drawn up by the RLP parliamentary faction were about solving women’s social problems and guaranteeing proper life conditions. “Thanks to the acts we drew up, certification system and free policlinic service have been adopted inArmenia. The state guarantees free antenatal and postnatal care, the benefit for a child has risen from 3 000 AMD to 18 000 AMD, and the lump-sum allowance for the first and second child has been fixed 50 000 AMD, starting from the third child 430 000 AMD. Equal opportunities for women and men in the government have been stipulated legally and sexual discrimination has been legally banned etc. A big package of acts that concern women, families, children and problems of women,” Artur Baghdasaryan said, adding that the RLP was exceptional on the political field by its persistent policy toward women.
Considering the upcoming processes, the party leader asked to unite and support each other, “We have honest goals and kind dreams and our fighting spirit is invincible. This gives us the full right to claim that the RLP will win.”
