Singer Shushan Petrosyan was pleased with the decision of the Public TV not to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. The singer said about that during a press conference at Hayeli (mirror) Club today, “I was at Dorians’ concert yesterday and I was saying every moment, ‘Thank God, these children will not go!’ and why should they go?”
Composer Lilit Pipoyan thinks that this is not just a Eurovision contest, “The issue is not the danger, they would guarantee security, but why should they go? As whom should they go? Should they go to say, ‘This is how nice we are, love us’? It is a hostile country – what message should we send?”
Armine Ohanyan, the editor of Hraparak newspaper didn’t agree with the singers. She said that she was going to send her daughter to Azerbaijan as a journalist to report on the contest.
